Happier Forms vs Tally

Tally is a generous free form builder: unlimited forms and submissions under fair use, with Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable and webhooks on the free plan. Pro is $24 a month. Happier Forms is the better fit when submissions need to reach a CRM like HubSpot, Mailchimp or Salesforce with every delivery logged and retried, and you want forms built and edited by describing them.

Pick Happier Forms if

  • Submissions need to land in HubSpot, Mailchimp or Salesforce without Zapier.
  • You want to see each delivery on the submission and have failed ones retried.
  • You'd rather ask for a change ("make phone optional") than edit fields yourself.

Pick Tally if

  • You want the lowest price: Tally's free plan is very generous and Pro is $24.
  • Your forms only feed Google Sheets, Notion or Airtable.
  • You like writing forms like a document, the way Tally's editor works.

Questions

Is Tally really free?

Yes. Tally's free plan has unlimited forms and submissions under its fair-use guidelines, with Sheets, Notion, Airtable and webhooks included. Pro ($24 a month) removes branding and adds custom domains and team workspaces.

Does Tally integrate with HubSpot?

Tally's integrations page doesn't list HubSpot, Mailchimp or Salesforce; those go through Zapier or Make. Happier Forms sends to all three directly.

Can I move from Tally to Happier Forms?

Yes. Create an API key in Tally, fetch your form as JSON from Tally's API and paste it in. Each question is rebuilt as a Happier Forms field, with a report of exactly what transferred.
